Chiropractic vs Muscle Relaxers

Low back pain is very common, affecting somewhere between 75% and 85% of adults.

It can be detrimental to many areas of life, including recreation, family time, and work.

Finding Relief

In search of relief, many Americans turn to over-the-counter and prescription pharmaceuticals like NSAIDs and muscle relaxers that can often come with negative side effects.

To measure the effectiveness of chiropractic care at managing low back pain, researchers at Life University devised a study that compared chiropractic care to the use of muscle relaxers.

Chiropractic Care Shown Most Effective

What they found was that, while both chiropractic care and use of muscle relaxers were better than a controlled placebo group, chiropractic stood out from the crowd in terms of overall effectiveness.

The group of individuals undergoing chiropractic care had the greatest improvement in “global impression of severity.”

Your First Resort

This shows that, while the option for medications is always available, chiropractic care can and should be used as a first resort in times of crisis.

Luckily, if you’re reading this, you’re already ahead of the curve.

Because, while chiropractic care is an effective first resort, it is even better when used proactively.

Always remember that prevention is key to better health and a better you!
